I was born in San Francisco but lived most of my life in Paris and London. I attended Central St. Martens for a year before moving to Chicago in September of 2003. I finished my B.F.A. in Printmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I also studied photography and video.
I have also focused a lot of my work in painting, primarily using acrylic on canvas. I concentrate heavily on the labor involved in making art, along with exploring different techniques within the printing medium.
Color is also a fascination of mine, and this is reflected in all of my work, whether it is a print, photograph, or painting. My images range from the iconic to the personal, but all of them use color and intense technicality to bind them together.
For the past couple years I have been focused on building my own printing studio, which has also helped strengthen my art work. I have also worked at Chicago Silk Screen, and the South Chicago Art Center as a teacher. Recently I have started private tutoring and continue to do commissions often as I can
What drives me is the potential of infinite possibilities and combination with art. I have the viewpoint that my work can always be better and that the piece I just finished can and should lead me to make the next. Only by exploring and continuously making work can I try to fulfill my fascination with creating the perfect piece.
